Bank Holiday Haul!

Hey guys. So this post is a little later than I had planned but better late than never right?! So, last Bank Holiday (25th August I believe) I took advantage of the rare moment that I actually had free time and hit the shops.

First on my agenda was Topshop. I love their clothes and in particular their jeans or jeggings.

Whilst browsing the store I came across these black and white patterned leggings. I liked the detail in the design and I thought the zip at the back was a nice addition. In the changing room they fit really nicely and were super soft and comfortable. I am all about comfort and this sold them to me. They cost £28. I've since worn them and they look great teamed with a plain white or black top and leather jacket.

Also from Topshop, I bought these skinny cut ripped style jeans. They were the usual Topshop 'jean price' at £40 and they are again so soft and comfy! I hadn't got any jeans in this shade of denim and the ripped detailing seems to be all the fashion at the moment! :) One thing I will say is Topshop jeans always wash really well and last for a long time.

I then decided to head over to River Island. Whilst browsing I noticed these black trousers. Always on the look out for some good 'school' trousers I thought I'd give them a try on. I sometimes struggle to get formal trousers to fit me, hence I opt for leggings quite often. A lot of the time they're simply too big around my waist and they do that horrible gaping thing at the back. However I found the size 8 fit perfectly and I loved how nice the material felt (sensing a pattern here when it comes to soft and comfortable clothes ey?!) They were £30 which I didn't think was too bad. I wore them one day last week for school and I have a feeling I'll be going back to buy another pair as they wash well and they actually fit me! Love them. Oh, and I like the little RI detailing.

Last but not least, I had a little wander in Primark. I only picked up this one top, not because I didn't find anything else I liked but because I forgot the store was closing early and I ran out of time! I literally got to the till about 10 minutes before it shut! Anyway, I picked out this summery top in the hope that we still get a bit of sun in September! I think it was either £4 or £6 and it was a nice top to wear for school last week...quite 'teachery'!

So there we go, my mini haul for you!

Have you bought anything nice recently?!

Elemis Tan Accelerator

Hello. So I cannot believe I haven't blogged about this before! It's Elemis' Tan Accelerator lotion and it's amazing. It's without question one of my most used and loved products of all time.

So what is it? ... Well, as it says in its name, it does indeed accelerate a tan. It's pretty good for that actually. However this is not the reason I first purchased the product.

When I was younger I'd often go on a couple of abroad holidays each year and whilst I enjoyed going away, my skin didn't. More often than not I'd break out in awful pricky heat rashes. If you've ever experienced prickly heat yourself, you'll know how unpleasant and uncomfortable it is.

May 2011, Greece. I developed the most severe prickly heat rash on my stomach that I had ever experienced and to be honest it ruined my holiday. I was miserable! However during that time my friend told me about this 'tan accelerator thing' that helps to prevent prickly heat and sunburn. I was certainly interested.

So prior to my holiday in Septemeber 2011 to Gran Canaria, I bought myself a bottle of the Elemis Tan Accelerator. It recommends it's best to apply the lotion about one to two weeks prior to your holiday to help prep your skin. I used the lotion like I would a body moisturiser and applied it all over my body once a day for about 14 days.

The result: A fantastic holiday in the sun, without any rashes or sunburn! Amazing. Obviously, as a then pale skinned person, I was also using high factor sun cream, but I didn't experience any sunburn. Usually I would still burn a bit, with or without sun cream as my skin was that sensitive!

I enjoyed using the product so much that after my holiday I decided to continue using the lotion and bought another bottle. Why?
1) The smell. It's delicious. I can't quite describe the scent but I really love it. I suppose it reminds me of holidays.
2) Good skin moisturiser. It's very easy to rub in and instantly sinks into your skin. I don't find it sticky and it does lightly tint your skin.
3) Great for sunbed use. Yes, I know, sunbeds are BAD. However I do enjoy a quick sess every so often and find the lotion really helps to protect your skin whilst accelerating the tan as it were!
4) I figured if I ever go abroad again, my skin will already be prepped and ready for the heat.
I've been using this on a weekly basic ever since...So, wow, pretty much 3 years!
At £22 from the likes of John Lewis, it's not particularly cheap but the fact that I continually repurchase speaks volumes in my eyes! It depends on how often you use it and how much you apply, but on average I get through a bottle about every 5-6weeks. If however you want it prior to a holiday and you're applying all over your body everyday, then I'd say a bottle (125ml) would last you 10-14 days depending on how liberally you apply.
All in all I'd give this product 10/10 and would recommend it to anyone, especially the fairer-skinned population!

Happy Monday!

Hello :) So I am in such an incredibly happy mood I thought I'd do a little post!

I actually think that this weekend has been the best weekend of my life!!! It obviously got off to an amazing start with the job offer on Friday and I was literally, and still am, completely overwhelmed! Despite contemplating celebrating with the odd alcoholic beverage I decided what I really wanted was a BIG FAT Mcdonald's haha so that's what I did!

Saturday I gave myself a well deserved chill day and got on with making my April Favourites video. I later watched some literally sick horror film called Mother's Day. Has anyone else seen it? I love a bit of gore so it made me very happy...I'm a bit weird sometimes hehe :)

SUNDAY, the day of all days. I started it by making a requested video about university before meeting up with a friend for lunch. I devoured a gammon and really enjoyed chatting away about teaching and what not, as she too is a teacher.

And then it was time to hit the town! And boy did we hit it good! I had one of the best night's ever :D Sounds cheesy but it's so true. You see... when you go out with your zumba instructor what happens is that you all end up breaking out into synchronized dancing! Obviously forgetting there's a club full of people watching haha....was so so much fun!

Rolled in this morning about 3am before spending part of the afternoon car hunting!....o0o sooo exciting :D I'll keep you guys posted on any developments on this!! Then later my parents took me for lunch where I had yet more gammon lol and then I worked out pretty good at the gym. Yay!

So yeah, I'm pretty much still buzzing over how great the last few days have been and rather excited about the big changes that are already starting to happen in my life. I haven't driven for 4 years (since uni) and so I've booked myself a refresher driving lesson next week with my old instructor to try and get some of my confidence back! (Bit scared, can't lie, but I'm going to take it as it comes and see what happens lol).

How was your weekends?!

:D :D :D If you're happy and you know it clap your hands... :)

Oh and my mood just got better by realising it's a Monday so MIC is on at 10pm. Yes.
